Formulation and Mixing Equipment

The APG-manufacturing process of cast resin-products often requires flexibility regarding the casting system. Our RMU Unit is a mixing/degassing- and casting-unit that is adapted to the needs of the clamping machine. It allows for the utilization of a wide variety of different casting systems, and with one mixing station and several pressure pots, a large number of clamping machines can be supplied with reactive resin.

The unit can be equipped with a mixing station as well as additional filler emptying and transportation units to automatically formulate a given resin formulation in the mixer. The useful volume of the mixer is approx. 50 litres, which relates to approx. 90 kg of reacticve casting compound that can be prepared. The mixer is used as pressure pot as well, it is certified up to 6 bar over-pressure.

Vogel mixing and formulation units are often used for start-up facilities to equip the clamping machines with low-cost material handling systems. Another advantage of these units is the great flexibility for trying various formulations to optimize the properties of the final product with different resin systems. Limitations of the units are due to the reactivity of the resin, because the “reactive” compound is established in the RMU unit for processing. If fully automatic systems are required with a short pot life, two-component dosing systems are necessary which can be provided by Vogel's mother company ”Hedrich Vacuum Systems”. Hedrich specializes in designing highly efficient preparation and dosing systems for vacuum casting as well as for APG.
